Its specific purpose is to further economic development in and around the City of Laurens; to promote and assist in the growth and development of businesses, including small businesses; to promote and assist in the development of residential housing; and to engage in other activities which facilitate economic prosperity for our community.

The principal objective of the organization is to develop ideas and recommendations which, when acted upon, would benefit the community economically by fostering increased employment opportunities through expansion of business and industry.
